Challenge
Lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) affects 40% of women, 33% of men, and 10% of children, including issues such as incontinence, urination difficulties, and bedwetting.
The need for frequent, uncomfortable doctor visits makes managing these problems a significant challenge.
A solution was needed to enable easy data collection and effective communication between patients and doctors while maintaining privacy and the comfort of a home environment.
What we accomplished:
- Our goal was to develop a system that allows for easy monitoring of urinary health at home and improves communication between patients and doctors.
- Together with the DiaPee team, we designed a solution for personalized urine flow analysis and precise monitoring of the urination process.
- We aim to encourage a proactive approach to urinary health, reduce the burden on the healthcare system, and improve users' quality of life.
Results:
DiaPee enables easy and effective self-monitoring of lower urinary tract dysfunction. Using a Bluetooth device and mobile application, patients gain clear insights into their condition, while doctors access detailed analyses through a web application. The system allows for timely detection of problems, better symptom management, and reduced need for frequent doctor visits, improving overall user well-being.
Technology
The web application for doctors is developed in React, ensuring ease of use and high productivity. The mobile application for patients is built in Flutter, enabling functionality on both Android and iOS platforms. The data collection device communicates via Bluetooth technology, allowing wireless data transfer from the toilet to the app. The backend system operates on a Serverless architecture, ensuring reliable, scalable, and efficient performance for the entire system.
