Interactive Mobile Game for Exploring Slovenia
Junaki Slovenije is an educational mobile game that combines quiz and strategy elements, taking players through the rich history, culture, and statistical data of Slovenia. Players choose among famous Slovenian heroes, compete in knowledge, collect resources, and build advanced cities in their selected regions. The game is designed for schoolchildren, students, and all quiz and strategy enthusiasts who want to explore Slovenia and its heritage in a fun way.

Challenge
Developing the Junaki Slovenije game required creating an educational yet entertaining application that would appeal to younger generations.
The main challenges included combining statistical data with a dynamic gaming experience and ensuring multi-platform compatibility (Android and iOS).
It was also crucial to provide secure user login, content localization, easy content management, and seamless backend system operation.
What we accomplished:
- The goal of the project was to develop an educational game that presents Slovenia's statistical data to young users in an engaging and interactive way.
- We aimed to increase the visibility of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and encourage learning through play.
- By incorporating Slovenian mythological heroes, strategic challenges, and quizzes, we created a tool that educates, entertains, and fosters national awareness.
Results:
Junaki Slovenije successfully combined entertainment with education and the promotion of Slovenian statistical data. The game enables dynamic learning, collaboration among players, and city development through resource collection. The technical solutions ensure secure login, easy administration, and regular content updates. Players gain insights into Slovenian heritage and statistics while participating in an interactive community, increasing interest in learning through play.
Technology
Advanced technologies were used to ensure an optimal experience for the development of Junaki Slovenije. The frontend of the mobile application was developed in Unity, enabling compatibility with Android and iOS devices and delivering a rich graphical and interactive experience. The administrative interface was designed in Angular for easy content management. The backend system is based on Node.js and a PostgreSQL database for data storage, while NGINX handles traffic routing. Security was ensured through restricted SSH access and data encryption.
