Learning Mathematics Through Puzzles
In collaboration with the Mathematical Games Company Limited (TMGCL), our IT agency participated in the development of cZeus School League, an innovative mobile and web application designed to teach and enhance mathematical skills. The application is crafted to help users develop agility, mathematical abilities, algebraic logic, and mathematical fluency. cZeus offers a dynamic and interactive approach to learning mathematics by incorporating engaging puzzles, challenges, and tasks that encourage critical thinking and logical reasoning. With its unique design, the application not only teaches but also motivates users to learn mathematics in a fun and more effective way.
Challenge
The challenge was to surpass the limitations of traditional educational methods by developing a digital solution that would excite students about mathematics through an interactive and engaging learning experience.
Our goal was to create an application that would not only serve as an academic tool in classrooms but also motivate students to practice math regularly and independently outside the school environment.
The emphasis was on offering a dynamic and enjoyable way of learning that fosters long-term interest in mathematics while also strengthening key mathematical skills through practical challenges and tasks.
What we accomplished:
- Our goal was to leverage the power of digital innovations to create a more engaging and effective math learning experience.
- By developing a versatile application that supports both individual learning and group competition, we aimed to improve math skills, boost confidence, and inspire a passion for mathematics in students worldwide.
- Additionally, we wanted to encourage continuous practice and a competitive spirit while providing a tool that transforms learning math into a fun and motivational process.
Results:
The solution was to develop an innovative platform for teachers as an alternative learning tool for testing and motivating students. Additionally, the mobile application offers the opportunity to participate in math tournaments, where students can compete against other users, with monthly leaderboards that further encourage a competitive spirit. The application also allows the organization of school-wide competitions and provides detailed statistics to help users track their progress and identify areas for improvement.
Technology
By utilizing Unity for developing mobile applications on iOS and Android systems, and Vue.js for the web application, we ensured a seamless and interactive experience across multiple platforms. The backend, built with NestJS and MongoDB, ensures robustness and scalability. We developed two mobile applications - cZeus Match Challenger and cZeus School League, as well as a web Admin environment for managing and tracking competitions and challenges in the mobile applications. In addition to publishing in the standard Android and Apple store environments, the applications were also made available on Amazon, Windows, and Mac platforms. The applications can also be played via a browser. Their new product, Star Numbers, was developed exclusively for the web.
