World Reborn
The Wicked Saints Studio’s game World Reborn is the world’s first adventure-activism game. The players get immersed into a blended-reality story game with graphic novel-style visuals and mixed-reality AR technology.
Solution
World Reborn is an interactive story game platform where you practice becoming a hero - dealing with bullying, prejudice, etc. - within the mobile game and then unlock missions to be a hero in real life. The journey begins at a school in a new dimension where your choices and real-world actions fuel your fate. Being recruited by a mysterious underground group, you receive an ominous warning: saving the school means saving that world.
Technology
The mobile app runs in the Unity game engine, combined with the Niantic Lightship ARDK, a cross-platform development kit that brings the player a more realistic and diverse AR experience. The entire game is powered using Node.js in Serverless Framework, the first framework developed for building applications on AWS Lambda.

Wicked Saints uses behavioral technology to create interactive media that is wickedly fun and actively good. They combine the power of movements with the pleasure of games. After emerging from Niantic's (makers of Pokémon GO) incubator, the Wicked Saints Studio team created World Reborn - the world's first adventure activism game.
