World Reborn
Adventure Game for Activism
World Reborn is the first adventure game for activism, combining graphic novel-style storytelling with advanced augmented reality (AR) technology. In collaboration with Wicked Saints studio, we developed a mobile game that encourages players to address social issues like bullying and prejudice, both in-game and in real life. The project enables players to become heroes who contribute to positive social change through interactive stories and real-life missions.
Challenge

We needed to build a platform combining interactive storytelling with real-world missions to tackle social issues such as bullying and discrimination.

World Reborn successfully bridged gaming and activism, allowing players to gain skills for tackling real-world issues through gameplay. The integration of augmented reality technology provided an interactive and realistic experience that motivated players to take action in real life.
Technology
The mobile application was developed using the Unity engine and enhanced with Niantic Lightship ARDK for realistic augmented reality. The game’s infrastructure is built on Node.js within the Serverless Framework, hosted on AWS Lambda, ensuring a fast, reliable, and scalable solution. This technological design enables advanced AR features and seamless integration of real-world missions into the game.
